i've seen it in Bangkok. i was surprised to see a movie about Laos right AFTER i visited the country. it was a pleasant surprise to find Ananda Everingham star in it - the star of "Shutter" and "Me...Myself". What I liked about the movie is that it showed so many beautiful places of Laos including Luang Prabang, Vientiane, and Pakse.

I am curious though. is the girl a popular actress in Laos? Or is she a newcomer, a new girl in the movies?

Please enjoy and read about her. She is wonderful girl.

If that information regarding Miss Lux Girl 2006 was for me, yes, I do NOT know anything at all about Lao artists - that's why I wanted to know. I tried buying LAO movies during my whole trip in Laos so that I will learn something about Lao Films (I am a huge film collector of films from all over the world). Unfortunately, wherever I go, I could NOT find any shop anywhere that has Lao films or movies. What they usually offer me are dvd from TV series, and no movies. Furthermore, they don't have english subtitles!

Thank you for the information on that actress. I appreciate it!

Where have you been? Laos theater was forbidden for 30 years by Vietnamese communist(Pathet Laos).  When they invaded Laos country, trade between Thailand, Cambodia, China, and Burma didn't permit under the  forced agreement. Laotian people were kept in the prison  on thier own motherand for long time since Indonesian war until recently that we are able to see the sun shines.  It's sad. Isn't it?

That is some powerful piece of information. I mean, it is sad, but it's nice to know. I have read about the Pathet Laos, i mean most of the relics and displays at the Laos National Museum concern the Pathet Laos, but there was hardly any mention about movies and cinema, thats why info from the locals are sometimes important so that other people - those who are not Lao nationals - will know about them.

It is sad that I know so much more about the culture and people from the U.S. and Europe than people from Laos which is within Asia like the Philippines, but with the advent of internet and open-borders, I am very glad to know a little more about Laos. I travel a lot and wherever I go, I always buy and collect local films - be it in Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. Recently, I was able to buy Cambodian films which are NEVER available anywhere in the U.S. or Singapore of Hong Kong. The Khmer films I bought even had english subtitles. I hope "Sabaidee Luang Prabang" will be available in dvd stores so I can buy it and have a Lao film for my collection finally.

why the hell the ending part is like that? both of them should have met each other or say a word... at least make us know that the movie has a happy ending part... this is really rather disappointing ! damn producer!
